Steve and Alex – Take Two!

We met up on this rainy miserable day for some photo fun. I love shooting in the rain…. And I dare you to try and make it through this post without laughing out loud or smiling!

Mark and Jenny

I have to point out something…. Jenny’s grandmother made her bouquet!  I absolutely love fall weddings, colors, and everything that goes with them… and she has the perfect fall bouquet!  For the wedding she got ready at her parents home… literally across the street from the church… which was BEAUTIFUL! After that we headed to Founders Inn for the reception and a night of fun. Jay Johnson of Astro was their DJ and turned out to be one of my favorite DJs to work with. He was able to keep that party going and was such a pleasant person to work alongside with at the reception…..

Enough talking, I know you’re really here for something else :-) enjoy the story!

OK, quick story…. After a few twirls, they stopped and the little girls strap was falling down her shoulder…. so this little gentleman gently placed it back up on her shoulder… and then spun her again!

The “E” needs some work, but I have to say, not bad for handheld and a quick request to the crowd to “spell” with a sparkler!

Jenny and Mark, I had so much fun working with y’all. May you be blessed.

Matisyahu at the Norva

Having lived in mission in Jamaica, and while being in school, I got really into the amazingness that is Matisyahu. He’s known for being a hasidic Jew who blends his faith with Reggae and Rap… Not only is his music wonderful, the lyrics are good! If you ever want to be blown away by a very joyous man who can beat box better than anyone I’ve ever heard…. You should check out some of his stuff! You can find him on Itunes under “Matisyahu” or check out his website Matisyahuworld. One cool thing is that they were videotaping tonight’s concert and if you register for his mailing list you can download it! Also, the home page is currently featuring footage from the show at the Norva.

It also was nice to finally get out of the house and do something for myself…. But, it is late so here’s just a little teaser.

I also want to throw a quick shout out to Jarett and his wife who were watching the show next to my friend and I. They were there to Celebrate his 26th birthday…. so Happy Birthday!

Rhoda and John

I met Rhoda during our consult earlier this year, and I remember leaving and just thinking, wow, I “REALLY REALLY hope I get this.” After getting engaged on a windy day, I guess it made sense that Sunday there was gusts of about 30 MPH (although, the brief bit we were outside I would have thought they were stronger.) It was obviously a very heartbreaking decision to have to move the wedding indoors but we still had an amazing and beautiful day! After all, it looked beautiful from the inside… but that wind! My goodness! After the ceremony Rhoda was really wanting to get outside for some photos… so we did! I kicked off my faithful… yet cute and stylish… crocs (yes, those exist) but they started to blow away! SO… they stayed on my feet as we ventured into the sand. Some strategic placement of his hand to hold down her hair and veil, and 5 min later we were done! Whew, it was intense, but worth it, I think we got some great images out of it!

The rest of the evening went off without a hitch. Rhoda told me during the consult that to her, the most important thing was the cake. Well, it too was of course, perfect! In the end, it was a great cap to a great weekend! 2 weddings, 2 days…. I’ve been in bed since ;-) jk

Enjoy!
Kelly

A day in the life….

Of KODI!

I’ve only briefly introduced you to my Standard Poodle, Kodi… So I figured it was time to let you see him a little more. Since he has hip dysplasia I’m trying to make myself take more photos of him, especially at play. These pictures make it hard to believe that at 10 months he already has such severe hip problems and walks like an old man not a young pup. So, here’s a day (ok, just a little portion) in the life of my Kodi Bear.

The day started when Kodi got a burst of energy and decided to help me do some gardening out back.

Why you can't leave a bored Spoo alone....
Kodi doing some gardening

So, since he was full of so much energy I brought him over to one of the local dog parks for a quick exercise session. Someone had left a frisbee there that he fell in love with. Since there were no other dogs there he actually used it! So, be ready, lots of frisbee photos to come!

Peek-a-Boo! I see you!The ONE glimpse of fall in the sea of green

grrrrr

How am I supposed to see?

Clearing the 1 inch hurdle ;-)

Got something stuck in your teeth, Kodi?
