This is a 2 for 1 blog for you! Stick around all the way to the bottom for the amazing and daring E-sesh of Bea and Ryan. Trust me, you don’t want to miss their photos!
Part One: I’m currently pretty much out of the office most the day because….
I was out of town for a wedding outside of Annapolis this weekend. I don’t travel on wedding days (for this very reason)… so Friday morning left early to beat DC traffic… had a great time in MD, and headed home Sunday morning. I was stopped in DC traffic… and staring at the exit traffic was supposed to clear up. We came to a stop again and a few seconds later I looked up in my rearview mirror and saw a car speeding WAY to fast for traffic and it was heading right for me. With nowhere to go and at a dead stop in traffic, I was rear ended by a driver going we think around 45 MPH. No screeching, no skid marks…. we just got plowed. This of course threw my car into the car in front of me. There’s a lot of “I’m so glad ________” statements that I could say. From the fact that my dog wasn’t in the car, that we walked away, that my friend I saw for breakfast who has Hemophilia wasn’t with me, and especially that I got rid of my eco friendly Honda Fit for the Xterra. Had we been in the fit I would probably still be in the hospital today… but instead of getting squished between 2 SUV’s and pulverized, my bumpers took it like a champ and on the outside my car looks surprisingly good. Now, the full size spare under the car also helped stop the car that hit us and is encroaching the rear axle so I’m still really nervous about what may be wrong. It goes in the shop tomorrow, I’ve already been contacted by the offending drivers insurance for repair, so I hope things go smoothly. That being said, I did bang my shin REALLY hard. It’s cut and pretty banged up and painful. I also have shoulder and back soreness, stiffness, and pain. I spent over 5 hrs in the Chiropractors today, have to go back tomorrow, and bring my car in tomorrow. So, I haven’t really been in the office for the past 5.5-6 days. I promise I’ll get to the emails/phone calls as soon as possible… I’m greatly sorry for any inconvenience and I’ll be able to shoot all upcoming shoots and weddings as planned. I’m sore, but I can move, and I’m very grateful for that. This is also the VERY reason I don’t travel out of town on the day of a wedding. Sure, I can get to DC in 3.5 hrs… but you never know.
This is the car that hit me.

Needless to say, when I saw it smoking and like this in my mirror… I thought my back end was done for!
Amazing, isn’t it? I bring it in to the body shop tomorrow morning, so my fingers are crossed it isn’t too bad. I’ve been warned though that it might be
Part Two:
Bea and Ryan!
These two…. with all the chaos going on with the accident, thinking of the shoot as I write this brings a smile to my face. It’s very rare that I find such a wonderful couple who don’t need ANY help from me! I mean, seriously… I just had to sit back almost the entire time and just let me interact and do their thing. From playing games of “paper, rock, scissors” to playing “air guitar” they were up for anything. And I do mean, anything! Let’s just say at the bottom of the post you’ll see what I mean. I knew all the other photographers out at the beach that night where jealous they didn’t have Bea and Ryan as their couple
Enjoy their lightheartedness in this heavy post!

I LOVE the swing series… I have more too, but I can’t narrow further

And of course, no beach session is complete without a blooper!

I’ll update as soon as I can. I know for sure I’ll be out of the office most of Wednesday and Friday.
